Student Short Stories - Comments welcome!

One of the projects we worked on last week was to delve into the realm of creative writing. I gave the students some guidelines, gave them the option of working in pairs or individuals (with double the work for pairs) and have had a great deal of success with the peer editing process. I will post some of them up, one or two at a time, after they are revised and tweaked. For the longer stories, I will have an intro and links to the full story.

Some of them wrote original pieces, others wrote prequels and sequels to stories we covered in class (including Corey's wrtiting).

Read, re-read, comment!

Looking forward to reading both the students original writing and the comments that follow. It will be interesting to read the reactions of the authors to reviews of their work.

To the student authors, be confident in what you write because you will have to defend decisions that you make. To those who will comment, remember to criticize repectfully and with purpose.

Thanks Aaron, your story wasn't too bad either. I also thought that Ashlee T had a pretty good story, even though it was kind of a chick flick. Anyways I've been slacking a bit on this blogger, so I'm going to start posting more. Anyways I'm out........

Why don't we make a open topic thread, so we can talk about anything that is school approprite. I think that would be interesting, and it would give me something to reply to to get some marks.

I recognize many of the posted comments as those of former students. Very impressed with their insights and how they have developped as writers with solid reactions to litterature. Bravo!
