"A Man and His Poutine"

Our first short story submission comes from Tim W. and Eric D. - it is entitled "Gouda and the Crumpecker".

The main idea of this story seems to be an integration of several of the stories we read in class, including: O. Henry's "The Cop and the Anthem", "To Build a Fire" by Jack London and all three Corey Charron originals. Be warned! To fully know where this story is going, you should have knowledge of these literary pieces! (or according to Tim: "It won't make any sense whatsoever")
It was just like any other Sunday; at least that's what I thought. I guess nobody could have really foreseen any of these events that have occurred. Well, by now you’re probably thinking to yourself, "Come on buddy, tell me, what happened?" So, I guess I won't leave you hanging anymore, or will I? Meh, I guess I'll tell you...

Great story. I really liked the way you made fun of alot of stories we read in class. Mostly the part part about a man and his poutine because someone else mentioned it in their commment s and you"ve remember to put in it.
Excellent work.

Well, I have to say I found this story quite entertaining. I also enjoyed how you incorporated some other characters from the short stories we read earlier on in this section. It's well done, keep it up boys.

Nice job!
As I read the story, I recognized referenced to Corey's stories as well as references to comments from the blog. In tying all these elements together, the story almost reads like a dream... a bunch of jumbled pieces combined through a central character. This must have been a challenge to write and for the most part it works.
My only complaint is that the character wasn't developed very well, he was just the glue to hold the pieces together. I really have no feelings for him, good or bad.

Great story. I found this story funny because it makes fun of some of the stories that we read in class earlier this year. A lot of those stries deserve to be made fun of too. It takes a lot of creativity to write this kind of story.

I agree with Mr.D, the character was not developed enough, and you don't really know how to feel for him.

I agree with Chris, the reason I liked this story was because of the way it made fun of all the short story's we read in class. In the words of Megan,"this story was quite entertaining".

Good job on the story. I liked how you incorporated all of the stories we read this unit. Although I doubt that anyone who hasn't read those stories could make much sense of it, I'm sure everyone in the class appreciated it.

You can't say it's not stupid, because it is. Exactly why it was so funny. Good job.
